Patches of Honor
We recognize that children have a unique exposure to loss and often seek connections with the law enforcement community. The Patches of Honor program sends out Law Enforcement packages to the children of fallen officers. We appreciate your donations of patches that can be sent directly to our PO Box listed below.

Financial Help
After the loss of an officer, many families are left facing unexpected financial challenges. Blue Wives Matter steps in to help by hosting fundraising events and offering financial support where we can. If you’d like to make a contribution, donations are accepted through Venmo, PayPal, or by mail to our PO Box. As a small, grassroots organization, every gift—no matter the size—makes a meaningful difference.

Peer Connections
Having someone who truly understands can make all the difference after the loss of a Law Enforcement Officer. Blue Wives Matter has built a network of over 400 surviving families, including more than 250 active support members. We thoughtfully connect families based on similar circumstances of loss, offering peer-to-peer emotional support from those who’ve walked a similar path.

We Are

Blue Wives Matter

Supporting surviving spouses and children of fallen officers. It is our mission to honor law enforcement officers who have died, no matter the cause of death, and to support their surviving families.

Blue Wives Matter was founded in 2017 after the untimely death of Fountain Valley California Police Officer Rick Nilos. Officer Rick Nilos dedicated his life to helping others, as a police officer and a US Marine. It was in his death that Blue Wives Matter became inspired to help the families who are left behind. It is our mission to provide the support that families need in their time of loss and grief. We support families no matter the cause of death.

Help a family in need. Your donations make a difference! Blue Wives Matter is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Your donation is tax deductible.

Make the holidays brighter for a surviving child. A $400 donation provides a shopping spree at the store of their choice—bringing joy during a season that can be especially difficult.

Sadly, we’ve learned that many organizations set age limits and exclude teens over 16 from holiday gift programs. At Blue Wives Matter, that broke our hearts. Every child of a fallen officer deserves to be remembered—no matter their age.

That’s why we proudly accept sponsors specifically for teenage children, ensuring they feel seen, supported, and included.
Please consider sponsoring one of these incredible young men or women today.
